1. Being a Mets fan. (I’m feeling annoyed towards them, this shouldn’t be much of a surprise.)
2. Wearing Uggs with either a short skirt or shorts. Either you’re hot or you’re cold. Pick a sensation and go with it.
3. Parking your busted down van in front of someone’s house that you don’t even know and then NOT moving it for three weeks.
4. Making me come all the way to school on a day that I don’t have to so that I can drop my final off in your mailbox. You’re just lucky I only live ten minutes from campus, you torture-seeker. It’s reading week, not finals week.
5. Cutting my hair two inches shorter than I asked so that I can’t even put it up in a ponytail and will therefore be very cranky while studying due to the aforementioned hair in my face. Always wear contacts to your hair appointments, ladies. Then you’re not blind as a bat.
6. Being an idiot kid on their bike in the middle of the street and laughing at a car behind you when they beep at you because YOU’RE IN THE STREET. Should have run them over.
7. Not turning in your paper on time and getting the professor to give you until Monday when I busted my ass to finish the book and the paper by Thursday. Boo.

Boo.

On the plus side, yesterday, the Phillies remembered the best way to win is a combination of the pitcher NOT giving up home runs AND scoring more runs than the other team. Always fabulous. I always say — if you’re breaking out of slump, why not kick a little New York ass at the same time? Yankees or Mets, I’m not particular. I hates them both.

It’s not entirely working.

I did finish about 2/3 of my math portfolio and the rest of my final speech for Public speaking today. Yesterday, I did section one of my Modern China paper and about 1/3 of my French paper.

I just can’t find the energy to finish section two for China and the the next third of the French paper. *sniffles* My French paper is planning a vacation to a French speaking country in French, so I chose Tahiti. It is not cheering me up to plan the dream vacation I won’t be able to afford for another decade. Evil. I should have chosen Luxembourg or someplace else I’d never want to go.

So after I got sick on Spring Break, I’ve noticed a really odd change in my sleeping habits and my overall energy levels. I’m tired allll the time, even though I tend to get at least six hours of sleep, if not more a night. And this morning, I slept through my alarm, through my parents getting ready for work and didn’t wake up until about 10:30 AM. This is really unsettling since I should have been up at 7:30 and I missed two classes! Last night, I was driving home from a night class and it was all I could do to keep my eyes open. I blasted the radio really loud and opened the windows, but it was a creepy experience.

I don’t feel sick otherwise now — though the normal allergy related sore throat in the morning pisses me off, so I have to go with the idea that this is lifestyle and diet related. I don’t get enough exercise — I already knew this — and because I’m usually running from class to class, I eat like a five year old. And I drink too much soda.

I can’t let this screw up my life — I’m six weeks from graduation and I just know that life next fall will be even more extreme, so I have to get it together. So my plan is this:

1. I’m going to cut down on the soda I drink. I usually drink a few Dr. Pepper’s a day, but I know it’s too much. I won’t cut it out entirely because I’ve learned from experience that when you deny yourself something you want, you just end up binging. So I’ll limit myself to one a day, and then try to slowly phase it out.
2. I’m going to stop getting my usual sandwich at Wawa. I’ve known it’s not good for me, but I just didn’t have the energy to deal with it. Now I have to. I’m going to start eating Yogurt, oranges and the other stuff I used to eat at lunch when I worked at Comcast.
3. And the most important thing — I’m going to make room in my schedule for 15-30 minutes of exercise a day. I’ve been reading online that it boosts energy and I know I don’t get enough walking to and from classes and the parking lot.

So during the month of April, I’m going to try these things out and see if maybe when we hit May, I’m not sleeping through classes anymore.
